Report of a Case of Solid Pigmented Basal Cell Carcinoma Resembling Clinically Malignant Melanoma

Abstract
A fifty-seven-yeas-old, farmer¢¥s wife, was affected a skin lesion of dark pigmented, raised, crusted, ulcerated, easy to bleed on touching the crust and indurated tumor with moderate hard . consistancy, and the tumor was located over the inner canthus of left eye, which was alike to malignant melanoma clinically. The tumor was oval-shaped and measured 1.5cm x 1.7cm in diameter, which did not make any pain or itchy sensation. It started with small papule about 8 years ago which gradually increased in size and ulcerated with occasional bleeding. Her skin lesion was treated with curretation and electrodessication or surgical removement by local practitioner, however, it recurred after the each treatments.
In this hospital, the patient received the skin biopsy of the tumor and the diagnosis was established as Solid basal cell carcinoma histopatholooically, and the tumor was removed by plastic surgical technique applying transposition skin flap from the infra-orbital area of the face, and the result was satisfactory without reccurence until upto date follow-up observation (for three years and three months).
On the conclusion, authors presented a case of Solid pigmented basal cell carcinoma resembling malignant melanoma with histopathological stud- and treated with plastic surgical management and obtained very satisfying result.
